Can't Use Avast Passwords
« on: May 22, 2020, 06:31:46 PM »
I re-installed Avast Free Antivirus application because I did a clean installation of windows. But Avast Passwords doesn't show up not only in privacy tab but also anywhere. I definitely checked Avast passwords when I customized which to install. (I also installed non-customized version several times.) Strangely, Chrome Extension of Avast Passwords said that it succeed to link to the application. Of course, it doesn't work properly.

How can I do?

App:Avast Free Antivirus(Version 20.3.2405)
OS:Windows 10 Home
CPU:Core i3-9100F
GPU:GTX 1650

Thanks

I managed to solve this problem, but its method is dangerous. If you wanna really solve the same problem, follow these steps at own your risk.

Caution:The method is dangerous and your secret information may be stolen. You should be careful.

1.Install old version of Avast Free Antivirus(it doesn't exist on the website of Avast)
2.Update it.

It's easy, but dangerous. When I installed old version, windows OS crashed. It displayed blue screen(I could recover.)

I hope I can be of any help to you.

Certainly not recommended. Sorry.
First thing I would have tried is to do a repair.

Repair Avast:
Open the Avast User Interface > Menu > Settings > Troubleshooting > Repair App. > Restart the Computer or,
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

If Passwords Manager was installed and doesn't work properly in your browser,
