Omni w/ Alexa devices - or any devices, really
« on: May 25, 2020, 12:19:20 AM »
I've hooked up my Omni Hub, but it has slowed down everything to make it almost unusable.

Alexa devices won't stream music and they become unresponsive to simple commands. Other devices show severe speed limitations when doing a simple internet speed test - comparing with and without Omni running.

Any suggestions? I'll be disconnecting it unless there is some fix for this.

Edited to add:
Router info:
wavlink aerial g2 pn:WN530HG4
firmware: M30HG4.V5030.191116

See if this helps,
Open the User Interface > Menu > Settings > Omni > Troubleshooting>

Thanks for responding.

I tried this, but it has not seemed to make any difference.

Music still won't stream over Alexa devices with the Omni hub, for me. Unplugging the Omni hub fixes the problem.

If you learn of any other settings to change, let me know.

Time for Avast to come up with some answers.
I'm also using Omni but don't experience your problems.
I've requested help from Avast.
Since this is the weekend, it may not happen till Monday.

Hi stlstv,

I would like to ask you to send us the logs from your device so we can investigate what is happening. To do so, please:

Disable components one by one:
 - Open Avast Omni
 - Navigate to "YOUR HOME" section
 - Click on "Omni hub" tile in the bottom of the window
 - Disable one by one shield and verify if the issue is still occurring:
 Anomaly Detection Shield
 Smart Device Shield
 Safe Browsing Shield
- After that, even if you will not be able to verify the issue, please send us logs from the hub.

Disable Omni in-app
- Open "Menu" - "Settings" - "Omni" - "Troubleshooting" - "Disable Omni hub"
- Verify if the issue is still occurring

Send the logs:
 Open Avast Omni
 Click on "Menu" - "Settings"
 Click on "Omni" - "Troubleshooting"
Send logs by click on "SEND LOGS". You should get a message "Thanks for letting us know!" after a while.

Thanks
