Reveton-F [Trj] - please help me!
« on: May 25, 2020, 01:44:33 PM »
The free version of AVG has detected and removed reveton from my laptop.
For some time later, the laptop started up at 8a.m. Subsequent AVG scans have detected nothing. Two weeks later, the laptop stopped turning on itself at 8a.m. (without my interference).
I scanned the laptop again using the full versions of AVG and Avast. None of them detected anything.
Can I be sure I have removed reveton from my computer? If not, what else should I do to check my laptop?
Does reveton steal files / passwords from a laptop or just block it?
Thanks for the answers!

Avast and AVG become one  >>  https://blog.avast.com/avast-and-avg-become-one

Why it isn’t a good idea to run multiple full antivirus products..!!  >>  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=211973.0

I did not know that Avast & AVG is now one.
Also I uninstalled one before installing another (so AVG & Avast did not run at the same time).

I am more interested, is this scan reliable? Did I get rid of Reveton? Or shlould I do something more?

Reveton is ransomware, if you still have access to your files i guess it is gone

Recomended ekstra scanner: Malwarebytes antimalware  >>  https://www.malwarebytes.com/

I assume you have a offline backup of all your data?

This is the answer to my most important question. Thank you.  ;)

Done. Malware found nothing.

I assume you have a offline backup of all your data?
Of course I have! The question is, does Reveton steal files from a disk? Is there an option that someone had an insight into my files or does reveton only blocks access to the drive?
