Paid versions can disable it.

Avast Menu > Settings > Personal Privacy and uncheck the various options you don't want.
See attached image, whilst this is for an earlier versions of avast it should be in the same area.

Installed 20.3.5200.561 and found that the shield disable does not work.  Popup with "are you sue...." but nowhere to enter YES or NO response.
Is there a config option for this somewhere or a bug?

Win 10 machine

Try the following, Repair Avast:
Open the Avast User Interface > Menu > Settings > Troubleshooting > Repair App. > Restart the Computer or,
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

For those that have updated to Windows 10 V2004. Have you noticed any issues with Avast?

@moniex.
I assume you have launched a Full Scan. Depending on size of disk and number of files to be checked, this can indeed take some hours. Also the 30% indicator may not be linear. Sometimes it sticks at a percentage then jumps to another. There is no pause button anymore Avast scans, should you need to interrupt it, so just let it run to completion.
Once you have completed the Full Scan, you should not need to another again on a regular basis. Just allow the active shields to provide necessary real-time protection. I only run a Full Scan once every few months or if something is not right.
