The old Avast Business Endpoint Protection Plus did not tell users their software had been updated and they should reboot to apply updates, ever. Instead, the system simply applied the updates either without rebooting or on the next reboot, silently. The only time an end user saw a message from Avast was when it detected something. That was something I loved about the old Avast--and one of the reasons I used to give when recommending the product to others.
With Avast Business Pro people are constantly being messaged to reboot. This is more like the behavior of Free AVG than what I have come to expect from Avast. Our help desk keeps having to answer questions from users who, correctly, are very concerned that these kinds of messages may be bogus and dangerous.
In the Avast Business Pro On-Premise Console I can't find any way to stop these messages except, perhaps, to click the "Silent Mode" checkbox. I think if I do that then I, as administrator, would no longer receive email alerts. I also think that it would stop detection pop-ups for end users.
How can I make Avast Business Pro stop telling users about updates and reboots, and only tell them about malware detections, without also stopping my email alerts from the Console?
Thanks for any help.
