Imo the default Windows Firewall, and a "lite" Avast Firewall are both bad ideas.

For many, many years I used Outpost Firewall Pro on a lifetime (that word again) license until they were bought out by a security company (no names) who offered a free years license by way of compensation. But I didn't really want that as I was happy with Avast Free

Long story short I couldn't use the old version I had on my win10 laptop, so I just used the Windows firewall. The first thing I noticed was a lack of tweaking/maintenance required with the windows firewall.
