Culpeper,

You left?   ;)

The low-res skin was replaced with a new one Sasha created.  There is a really nice selection now of skins to satisfy just about everyone's taste.  If not, there is an Avast Skin design program available.
Try you creativity!   ;D

Nice to have you back.  I was getting lonely without the ole' crew.   :'(

Well, not quite true... low res skin is still there, it's just not visible in avast! skin browser list (for whatever reason). My new skin SZC-KDE replaced old Shadow Fist.

Silver Panel cannot be deleted (so does Low Res but this one is not shown on the list)
The other 2 default skins, Teak Zeppelin and SZC-KDE can be removed by using the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> avast Antivirus -> Change/Remove -> Change -> Skins option.

Shadow Fist is not in avast 4.6 anymore. SZC-KDE replaced it.

Hope this helps,
Vlk

Like the volume icon in WinXP, I must have the low res skin to work with.    If push comes to shove I can use other skins but...but, sick, lame, or lazy, I'm low res skin crazy.

Maybe we can post a pic of the original low res skin so people can see what it was like "back in the day".

I really don't understand what's the story with your volume icon... I saw so many threads where you mentioned that issue. I've personally never heard someone else had situation like that before. Are you sure something in your Windows Registry is not messed up ? How about trying to repair Windows installation ?

See screenshot... doesn't matter which skin I choose, my volume icon is always there... unless I check option HIDE INACTIVE ICONS.

Cheers !

If you absolutely want to see the low-res skin in the list so you can choose it (everyone's taste is different I guess ;)), simply rename the corresponding file with whatever you want in the DATA/SKIN directory of the Avast program.

I knew this thread would come in handy again someday.  I guess I'm the only one to stick with the generic low-res skin.  But it is still there.
