Hello,

There's an issue that's been plaguing my PC for a little while. I cannot host dedicated servers. When I launch one, I can see the server myself, but not even people on the LAN can see it, let alone those trying to access it remotely. Another example of this strange activity that wonderfully depicts the issue is when I attempted to play a Playstation emulation with a friend. This instance is peer-to-peer (he still had to host), and transmits control inputs rather than traditional netcode. Because of this, I noticed that I was receiving his inputs, but I wasn't transmitting mine.

Another occurrence of the same issue, is the inability to use a bridged adapter for a virtual machine. If I used a bridged adapter, the vm would get an IP but would be unable to connect to the internet.

I know its not the router as it has been reset and others in the network can host dedicated servers. I had malware bytes premium once, I just cleaned and reinstalled my Avast Premium.

Can someone please please help me? This issue is so frustrating.

Thank you.

Set the Avast Firewall to private mode and reboot.
W8.1 [x64] - Avast Free AV 23.3.8047.BC [UI.757] - Firefox ESR 102.9 [NS/uBO/PB] - Thunderbird 102.9.1

Thank you for your response,

It has been set in private mode for as long as I've had Avast. I believe that I had implemented a fairly strict rule on outbound traffic when I had Avast Premier, which if I remember correctly had advanced firewall controls.

I am open to more suggestions, and thanks again for responding.
