Guys,
This is the third time in as many years when Avast has nuked my machine and many others - why don't you take liability for your poor quality control and install adequate regression test capabilities. There must be a dozen lessons you should have learnt here - have you?
Now whenever my Workstation goes bizarre I think what has Avast blown - and it's pretty much always you guys. I have been in IT develop for 35 years now and I am lost at how you let such a powerful program nuke things it shouldn't because you haven't tested it adequately enough - plus don't have a feature - has avast killed something by accident capability - run a test and find out.
Instead we loose sleep and time and suffer anxiety and stress because you blew it with faulty software that caused many people real loss and you should make it up to us - like a money back or a year free subscription offer every time you drop the ball and nuke us - then maybe you would learn if you took it that seriously.
Matthew
If you have been in IT development for 35 years, then you would know that developers need information to track down issues. Not all systems have the same installations.
I guess this gets it off your chest and may give you some satisfaction, but it doesn't help pin down any issue that you are currently having.
Just complaining doesn't resolve the problem if there is no details to even try.
Before shooting the messenger, I'm an Avast user just like yourself who has been using Avast Free for over 16 years without any major along the way. Any issues that I did Have I sent details and way back in the day of 64KB modems, sent a CD by mail because it would have taken an eternity to upload the dump files.
