Avast needs to restart your computer
« on: June 03, 2020, 03:53:30 PM »
I don't understand why I am getting these pop-up notices from Avast to restart my computer when my software is set to update manually. When someone has their software set to update manually, that means they want to update the software on their own schedule, not the Avast schedule. So, I restarted the computer, and what happened? Nothing happened, probably because my software is set to update manually. The pop-up notice has a drop down menu that says "Remind me next century," so I selected that in the hope I will never see it again. Getting these type of pop-ups during the work day is an inconvenient annoyance and I wish they would stop it for people with their software set to update manually.

Hi,

When you open Avast AV and you go to Notifications > Ignored issues,
do you see "Your computer needs restarting" there?

Also, you can have a look at Menu > Settings > Notifications > Use silent mode...
