I have the paid version, I updated it to the latest version today, and as soon as the PC restarted, I had no access to internet anymore.  I know it's the Firewall because I deactivated it and everything works fine.

Before updating it, it used to happen the same, but I found out that if I just switched the network from private to public and then back to private again I regained access but now even that's not working.

Repair Avast:
1. Avast GUI -> Settings -> Troubleshooting
2. Click on 'REPAIR APP'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

1. Download Avast Premium Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premium_security_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

Is Avast Firewall being used and is it being reset to Public (default) when new version is installed.
Have users of paid Avast checked their Avast Firewall is set "Private" after the update?

Well Asyn, it worked. I started by getting rid of Malwarebytes using their cleanup tools. I wasn't using it much anyway. Then ran AvastClear.  Even ran CCleaner for good mesure. Reinstall Premium, activated my license, and now everything works fine. Internet and emails. This Win7 PC is 8 year old, I started with the free version for a couple of years, then upgraded to Internet Security, ran that for a long time, until they gave us Premium last year. That's a lot of update and upgrade. Doing a clean install made a lot of sense. I should have tought of that.   I'm surprised about the Win10, it's not even 2 years old, but this one too started with Internet Security and was upgrade to Premium, when was that ? About a year ago. I'm sure it will be fine.

I also have another PC on the Win10 insiders program slow ring. I got a free one year license from Betanews a month ago, and I installed AVG Internet Security on that one. I updated it yesterday also and it was working fine. Recent install.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
