I just posted all my logs in the virus thread.  As I wait I think I want to block this device.  I am not sure what it is.   How do I block this IP?

See it:  Connected Device.  It is a winstron device.  I want to block that IP for the night until someone is able to help me as they make it over to me.  TY TY

I am asking for help using my avast software I just bought - with my own money.

I want to block an IP.  Can someone please assist me?  I was recently robbed for $1,000 USD at the worst time in my life, during the worst pandemic in our lifetime where I was not working.

Please, how do I block this IP while I wait to get help from AVAST?

But not knowing what Avast Products you have, makes it somewhat difficult to answer.

If you have the Avast Firewall, is there nothing there to block an IP address in the firewall settings/app permissions, etc.

You say these are devices, they would presumably be assigned local IP addresses when connecting to your network.  I don't know if the avast firewall blocks at a local IP level.  I would guess setting the firewall to Public would stop all of these devices, but that could be more hassle in your use of the internet.

IOT devices are vulnerable to attack as when conceived security was perhaps a lower priority than convenience.

I am not qualified to answer any of that.  I bought a $2,000 computer and just purchased $140 of Avast product.  I am trying my best.  If I remove all of my avast products can you tell me how to use windows 10 to block this IP?  I honestly do not understand what is going on so I am unable to properly explain it.  90% of my life I trust people like Avast so I do not need to understand.  In a few weeks I will go back to that.  For now, I would like to cut access off to this infected device. I can not afford to be robbed again for a few more months.

I don't know how to use Avast firewall - so I asked on the Avast site.  So, I do not understand what is or is not there.  I barely recognize the term IOT.

If you have any direct or specific things you can assist me with that would be great.  If you want me to paypal you money so you can help me thats ok too - done.  I really do not know what to do. I am here asking for help,  Ive used computers all my life and taken no classes on it.  I ask people like you, I guess or happily pay them.

IOT is the Internet Of connected Things, all of those things like being able to remotely turn on the lights, heating, devices that you can interact with.

Keeping all of this together in the one topic means all of the information is in one place and you don't have to respond in different topics for what is essentially the same issue and anyone trying to help doesn't also have to jump between topics to gather information.

Looking at your other topic, that image doesn't say it is infected, it is saying it is Vulnerable.  That vulnerability could be in your WiFi router, I just don't know.  I don't believe removing Avast wouldn't change that.  The Windows Firewall doesn't make life very easy with settings and I don't know if it would block local IP addresses or not.

You have left your logs in the other topic but that they need to be analysed by a qualified malware removal specialist.  There may be some delay due to differing time zones and availability of the volunteer malware removal specialists.

If someone with a gun says they are going to kill you in 3 seconds.  Your response is to stop them.  Not call the police.

I might have a device which was used to steal $1,000 from me.  While I am waiting for assistance, I understand I have to wait.  I would like to prevent myself from being robbed again if possible.  So, in your opinion.  It is best I take no action, use my financial information like normal and ignore the infected device?  (I am genuinely asking, I have no idea).

Well, in short, just disconnect the device from your network.
