Avast Threat Detected - Am I Safe?
« on: June 05, 2020, 07:55:57 AM »
Hello,
A fellow paranoid here.

I recently got a pop-up by Avast saying that a threat was detected, and it was moved to virus chest. (IDP.Generic)

The file was a "Setup.exe" file, probably downloaded automatically as an update or something by some software that into the temp folder, which I didn't open. Probably a false positive but to calm myself... my questions are:

1. If Avast detected the file, this means that it was blocked from running on my computer?
2. The file is no longer on my computer, and I've since preformed a few full scans, including boot-time scans and everything's clean. The system is safe?

Thanks :-)
