pesky syshost.exe

1st let me say that I think avast has a great program and one that I will support and pass on to my friends, in business.
But, I found the SYSHOST.EXE virus, and followed all the directions to get it out, but nothing worked, it would not go away.
I am running win2000 pro and I am the administrator.
I downloaded virusclean, that didnt help either, so my only alternative was to reformat which I did.
Any other solutions for getting this virus out?

Try this Google search or this article with links to av webpages.

Basically, the existence of the file syshost.exe is an indication of a possible infection.  :(
