I have a few users that have fujitsu scanners. The software they use to communicate with the scanner is "ScanSnap".
When installing Scansnap there is a file that is called at a later point in the installation that gets flagged by Avast.
The file that is called by the installation is located in the "c:\users\installinguser\appdata\local\temp\" directory.
I had submitted a false positive form a couple months ago and it fixed the issue but now they have updated the software and it is being flagged again.
Another thing I noticed when the file is flagged I am unable to restore it from the virus vault in the Avast client. I get a simple error message stating "the file can't be restored". So the only way to install the software is by making an exception during the installation process when I get the Avast alert. Problem with that is that the exception gets overwrote by the cloud console and adding the exception to the cloud console is kind of pointless when the name of the file is going to change every time the software is updated. I'm not willing to just add an exception to the appdata folder.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what route to take to get rid of this issue since the file/filename is going to change with every new revision of their software.
