Fantastic tests...
It's very instructive to the ones that say that avast! could slow down the system.

Yes, proof positive that avast is one of the few av's that does very little to slow down a computer ... as opposed to those we all at this forum know are resource hogs.

Unfortunately the test results are flawed because he is running it in a VM and without taking into account the Windows XP Prefetcher which is self tuning. You cannot accurately judge boot times running something in a VM. Not to mention simply rebooting two more times will give different results due to the Prefetcher self optimizing.

you can always write him to disable prefetch :) ... anyway i got that enabled for obvious reason
