new user - install issue
« on: September 12, 2006, 01:42:00 AM »
I just installed the home version, but did not remove Norton first. It installed fine and is running well, but during the install I got a notice that said it would disable a few checks in the system because Norton was running. I have since removed Norton, and need to know how to turn these checks back on. Thanks

You're lucky your computer can boot  :o

Please, full remove Norton and then install avast.

Uninstall avast and boot.

1) Remove NAV through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
2) Use Symantec removal tool following the three steps defined in the SymNRT tool info.
3) Boot.
4) Install avast! Boot.
5) See what you get.
