AVAST Ignores Previously Installed VPN from Another Vendor
« on: June 19, 2020, 12:01:59 AM »
I had already signed up for a paid subscription with another company when AVAST came out with their VPN offering. Not wanting to pay for something I already have I chose to ignore the new features. Now when I run AVAST Premium it keeps telling me I need it's VPN and have issues with my IP address being visible for theft. This isn't true as the other product is running for protection.

Seems like this is either a software shortcoming or it was written to perform that way. How can I change this or get it corrected to stop getting incorrect msgs from AVAST? Very annoying.

You can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI -> Settings -> Personal Privacy

Along with Asyn's direction, you could also go into Troubleshooting and select 'Add/Modify Components and make sure you only have the components you want to be installed 'Checked' while leaving all others 'Unchecked'
