Terrible video performance. bad test report
« on: June 20, 2020, 02:46:08 PM »
@ Avast Browser Team,

Video performance with " Kaltura HTML5 Library v2.81 -This is free software released under the GPL2 see README more info
* http://html5video.org/kaltura-player/docs/readme"  Rendering video here is "far under par".

Where I stumbled onto this malfunctioning with Avast Secure Browser rendering support:
https://jensen.nl/# Problems playing -> kaltura content from https://kaltura.jensen.nl/p/102/sp/10200/embedIframeJs/uiconf_id/23448177/partner_id/102
consider also: https://maps.google.lt/maps/_/js/k=maps.m.en.9v_Dez1spxI.O/m=sc2,per,mo,lp,ti,ds,stx,bom,b/rt=j/d=1/rs=ACT90oG6ItOuuin-VSrM1Hxl_A7kxklb7A

Sound OK video blurred half green in colour and flickering and stripy.
Contents play normally in Brave browser for instance, so the problem is with the browser.

Hi bob3160,

It is the video at the site https://jensen.nl

Tried also to toggle the quality settings, but that did not help. The youtube version of that video just plays normally.

No problem watching their main video on their website.
Suggest you check all those blockers and scanners you use that might be at fault. :)

No problem here either, initially watched on the default windows size and then opening up to full screen.

I would say that the very opening graphics looks pretty slick/impressive, very graphics intensive and I still get pretty fast rendering.  Looks as good or better a quality of many other videos I have watched.

Mind you, most of the videos I have watched via YouTube would be using a lower resolution by default (or what you set as the default, both size and resolution).  But this video at Jensen.nl was fine for me.

Hi guys, just tested it on highest resolution (1080p) in full screen, but no issues here either (it even runs smooth with VPN).

I followed bob3160's suggestion, just cleansed the cache and disabled the few extensions I work, and still same performance. So I think it is because I am not on Intel but AMD with that Chinese computer. I will try the other laptops at home for performance and will report back. Weird to me is that utube, hooktube, even banned video, etc. all plays like a charm.

Hi, see if it helps to disable hardware acceleration in ASB settings.
