Is anyone else having issues with the virus scans running on Free version?
I have couple of computers that have stopped running the quick scan after the June update.

I can go to scan settings and see that I still have them scheduled but they will not run.  If computer is a sleep and misses the time it used to run as soon as woken up but now does nothing.

I have tried to repair and still does not fix it.

What Avast version number are you using, as the Quick Scan isn't displayed in the Virus Scans screen, but is in the Custom Scans if you created it.  Here you can set its actions, but I don't see anything in the advanced settings relating to run it when it comes out of sleep.

Previous versions ran quick scan daily for me.  If I had it set for 7am it would run.  It also would catch up if I turned on my laptop after 7am on that same day.  I have the quick scan settings in the customize. 

I have been using Avast Free for years and have never had an issue with the scans running until this latest update.

Right now I am on version 20.4.5312.578.

Unfortunately things change over time and this setting is no longer in the UI.

That said:
With a resident on-access antivirus like avast, the need for frequent on-demand scans is much depreciated. For the most part the on-demand scan is going to be scanning files that would be otherwise be dormant or inert. If they were active files then the on-access file system shield would be scanning them before being created, modified, opened or executed.

I used to have avast set to do a scheduled weekly Quick scan, set at a time and day that I know the computer will be on. But I have ceased this practice for some time now, based in the above.
