Leap in Renewal Price
« on: June 30, 2020, 01:09:40 PM »
I have been a paid member of Avast (Premium and its predecessors) for several years.

My subscription is coming up for renewal and the price has really leaped up!

I currently utilise Avast for 3 PCs and paid £45 last year.

Now I see that for 1 machine only its £60 or up to 10 for £75.

This means that I would need to pay 66% more than last year to secure my 3 PCs. Incredible  ???

Disappointingly, I will now be looking at alternatives as this is madness.

Personally as an Avast Free(loader) user, were I to purchase I certainly wouldn't use the auto renewal/payment as the charge is 100%.

There used to be a renewal discount some time ago, now it seems to be an offer on first purchase then 100% on renewal.  Frequently there were discount offers from within the User Interface to renew for those not on auto renewal.

This is also an issue with consolidation into one paid product and 1 or 10 licenses, who the heck needs 10 (a very large family, 5pcs 5mobiles, etc). Personally I feel there needs to be a more flexible intermediate option/s 3, 5 licenses, etc.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more!

For a long time, I simply haven't even considered the alternatives, but with this approach I have little choice.

Good to know its not just me thinking that at very least.

i had the same. phone their call centre (if they are working) and explain and they offered a decent discount.
mine came to £83 for a two year licence but only for 1 device. haggle and they usually drop it even more.

You could cancel the Auto Payment/Renewal and see if you do get a renewal offer in the User Interface as it closes on the renewal date.
