After seeing it quite a bit lately, I haven't seen it for a couple days. Nothing on my computer has changed, though as it is just a sudden flash of a popup, it would be possible to miss.

Will be sending logs though when I do see it again.

Happening for a couple of weeks now since I last updated, very very annoying and hard to get work done with the constant popups, problem is identical to what was described by others in this thread.

I've sent logs to the email above, below is specs:

64bit Windows 10 Home 1909 - 18363.1082
Avast Premium 20.7.2425 (build 20.7.5568.596) / Malware Bytes Free 4.2.0

Same here, every time I log into my pc I get that split second blank Avast window popping up. Haven't changed anything that would cause this, I do believe there was a database update I did this past week but that shouldn't affect the program.

I’ve had this since the last update. It last a second or 2 when I’m using my PC.
When I’m away it pops up and stays until I use mouse/keyboard.
I use the free version.
It dawned on me today that I haven’t had any advertisements in the lower
right corner of my PC since the last update.

Having same problem here too since last update, i've had it going on for 2 weeks now, very annoying, and i did not make any changes to my PC at all, i feel like i paid Avast Security for nothing only to get frustrated
No traces of any malware or spyware even after scanning, there must be some kind of glitch or error going on with one of the last updates that caused this kind of issue to happen
Hope the staff can act quickly, it's starting to get on my nerves, i've also made a repair & reboot, didn't fix the problem

Sounds like subliminal advertising.

Complete speculation.

Even subliminal advertising has to have a point, something that the mind takes in (remembers and possibly acts on) that is the whole point of it and this has:

1.  Nothing like that, certainly nothing anyone has captured, which kind of defeats the point.
2.  Surely if it were the point then wouldn't everyone be seeing it, I'm certainly seeing it.

Any search on subliminal advertising will return many hits and nothing like this, e.g. where's the bloody message they are trying to convey.

Update: as of now, the pop-up still going on, you might think it's easy to ignore such issue and just try to get used to it, but this pop-up is like a nightmare for me, i've had it randomly appear during a game, and made me screw up several times, i got frustrated that almost made me rage quit, even on a  live stream which made my small audience questions on what's really going on, it was awkward

Another thing that i've noticed, The pop up seems to trigger whenever i am watching a video (on youtube & other vid websites) could this be due to avast monitoring on videos? even though technically if that was the case, the pop-up shouldn't even appear in the first place

We need a screenshot so we can investigate. Without a screenshot, who knows where the pop up is coming from.

@bob. To do that someone would have to rig a high speed video camera in front of their screen. All you see is a breif flash of a white window, which you would never capture using PrtSc manually. Also probably explains why noone has posted a screenshot to-date.
