Is it advisable to add AppData and Downloads folders under Ransomware Shield protection ?

How confusing is this?  I just received an Avast notification warning me that my primary folders (I think that is what I was told) are vulnerable to ransomware and that I should upgrade to the premium version.  Really?  Hmmmmmmmmmm.  :o

Just ignore it, it seems FAQ and ads haven't been adjusted yet. ;)

This will now have fixed the problem, what were we talking about here?
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=235194.0

Was it Avast's fault at all?

Thanks in advance for the answer.
One answer to this, please! (That's why I registered for this forum.)

I haven't dared to use two apps since Tuesday because of this.

anyone else notice avast is constantly hitting the network card sending and receiving data? when system is idle and nothing is open?

Normal when my system is idle and nothing is open nothing is hitting network card.

Less this abnormal network activity on my card is due to dish network update again, bunch time over the year and update to hopper system would cause constant send receive hits on my network card if it hopper was connected to wifi.

I installed the latest version of avast free and to my surprise it doesn't freeze the applications as it did but certain applications are misbehaving and certain applications work fine. For example soon as I load into windows I have software called NZXT cam that controls my fans and that stops loading and will not open as it requires the internet, and after that stops loading if I click on the Edge browser it does not load anything even though I have a stable internet connection and shutdown takes a while, removing avast free fixes issues. Oher applications behave strangely to.

Probably related to stream updates, they get checked every few minutes.

I just installed this new version.  Unchecked Ransomware Shield because I didn't want it.

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX THE FIREWALL NEVER REMEMBERING ALLOWING APPLICATIONS THROUGH THE APPLICATION RULES. CONSTANTLY NAGGED FOR ACCESS TO CHROME AND ICARUS EVEN THOUGH I ALLOWED THEM AND TICKED "REMEMBER MY ANSWER". I REPORTED THIS OVER A MONTH AGO AND RAISED A SUPPORT TICKET.

IT STILL IS NOT FIXED

YES, I AM SHOUTING !!!!!
