Hi,

For years I'm a user of your excellent free software.
But in the last version something seems to have gone wrong : every few minutes I get a notification 'External drive connected',
showing the ID details of my main internal boot-and-system drive (a Crucial 512 MB ssd).

I could click 'stop offering to scan external drives', but that is not really what I want.
Platform : Win 10 rel 2004. Avast version : 20.5.2415 - build 20.5.5415.561

Any suggestion how to resolve this ?

@Asyn :
Thanks for the suggestion - I tried this but still the same result - notification keeps coming

UPDATE :
It seems to be an issue caused by the WIN 10 update (which I got at about the same time as the avast update).
Got resolved by tagging the SATA bus involved as 'internal' in the registry...

Hi, I got this update and now I can't use Zoom conferences!

This needs to be fixed.
I get these blocks immediately after logging into my company's Zoom web portal.
I had to disable all shields in order to use Zoom.

why is avast shield blocking thunderbird from receiving/send emails using my google account? as soon as I disable the shields it works fine in thunderbird, soon as enable it it stops work

I have not changed anything in thunderbird and as of today avast is blocking it, it not saying it blocking it but obviously it blocking it cause soon as turn the shield off it works

I forced a definition update and seem to be working again.

This new version has been causing many failures in Thunderbird trying to read emails (timeout problems, connection problems). Turn off the mail shield and there are no troubles. After years running this setup, this is the first time I have experienced this issue.

I started a separate thread for the problem.

Avast Premium Security.   Firewall not working on starting computer.  Asked at computer shop who recommended I reinstall programme.  I uninstalled previous version and installed new version.  Avast wanted new subscription even though I have a subscription expiring 5 July 2021 and have the activation code.  Help, please.  I'm too old for such problems!

What does your Avast Tray icon (right click) show for the Registration Information (image 1 below) ?

If it isn't showing anything (or need to register) connect that installation to your my.avast.com account (same logon as you used to connect to the forum, image 2 below) you should be able to assign the license.
If you are still logged on to the forums when you do this it may connect automatically.

I'm having an issue with remote access shield. I am remotely connected to my office computer but every few minutes I get a pop-up notification that an incoming connection was blocked. Here are some of the URLs
rdp://45.141.87.250/BruteForce
rdp://52.191.162.141/Blacklist
rdp://13.95.156.233/Blacklist
rdp://52.168.10.65/Blacklist

Would it be safe to check out these IP addresses to see what they are?

I closed about 20 of these pop ups when I first connected to my office computer

Another thing I noticed is that I can't open Outlook. I tried doing a repair on it but it still won't open.

Hi all. Please welcome Avast 20.5.
...
We hope you enjoy the new version!
AVAST Team

Problem. This latest version, Avast Free Antivirus (20.5.2415 (build 20.5.5410.561)), now prevents me from saving my work in Corel PhotoPaint 2017. It tells me that corelPP.exe is trying to modify my protected folder (Huh? What? - no it isn't - its just saving to my Documents\graphics work folder like always, like I tell it to). When I manually override to allow the save to occur, actually the saved file never appears in my work folder. The latest version of Avast seems to have destroyed it. No issues with saving in IrfanView however, even though it's saving the same photo with the same edit to the same folder. And there were no such problems with the previous version of Avast, 24 hrs ago.

Assuming that this is a bug, and if it can't be fixed, then I'll have to uninstall it if I'm going to keep working on my stuff.

Thanks though -- this is the first problem I've ever had with Avast. So you're doing good.
