change obsolete email address in my avast account

quite often on the forum, users have difficulty finding their subscription linked to their email address on account.avast.com, either because they have never created an account and the email address has become inactive, or because they have entered the wrong address at the time of purchase or when starting a trial (or indicated a false one  ;)).
Looking at my own profile (https://profile.avast.com/), I see that it is possible to change my main address.
Also I was wondering if it would not be possible for the above mentioned people to:
- either create an account with the wrong address used for the purchase and then possibly switch to the new one, in which case an account can be created (request for confirmation by e-mail)?
- or create an account with the current address (the confirmation can be done) Of course there will be no subscription linked but then changing the main address by the wrong one will not make the subscription appear?

In fact I was thinking of this procedure to avoid (it happens quite often) users having to contact avast (usually without even having received an order number:wrong address) with a rather laborious (in my opinion) process for avast to make the link ???

You can add an additional email address to your Avast account and make it the primary email address.

For all new subscriptions, an Avast account will be automatically created.

You, of course, need to be able to verify the email address and if you cannot (e.g. you had a typo in it),
then you will have to contact Avast Support.

contact Avast support, which is precisely what bothers a lot of users who do not yet have an account when they realize that their address is wrong or disabled.
They then have to fill in an order number "00000000" ("lambda" user is not informed of this by a FAQ ?).
I was hoping that it would be easier to find the "subscription<=>e-mail address" link by entering (in an avast active account) an inactive address that avast recognises as having been used for the purchase .... obviously this is not possible. :-[
