Sensitive data shield
« on: July 21, 2020, 09:46:30 PM »
Does sensitive data shield only seek out keywords in file names when it scans? I would like to add an entire folder as can be done with the ransomware shield. Is there no way to do this?

Well, as far as I've been able to tell (using Sensitive data Shield for some time) that's not possible.

I didn't see any way to do it either. I would consider, for the most part, everything in my Documents folder sensitive.

I hope this is added at some point.

Thanks a bunch, schmidthouse.

I don't understand why this function isn't done the same way as Ransomware Shield, but for restriction of access to said files opposed to Ransomware Shield's of preventing modifications.

Does sensitive data shield only seek out keywords in file names when it scans?
<snip>

It certainly looks like it is looking at file names on the smart scan and it only needs to be on character out for it not to be picked up on the Smart Scan , statements rather than statement (that I have tested), statement is notified on the smart scan (trying to sell the sensitive data shield) but not statements.

I really don't believe they would be crazy enough to even attempt file examination by content rather than file name.  The privacy and security issues would have people screaming at the top of their voices to whomever would listen (social networking).
