What to do if you don't know your last avast password?
« on: July 23, 2020, 04:56:21 PM »
I recently reset my Avast password, and need Avast Passwords to sync with Avast Account. Problem is, I don't have another syncing device, nor do I know my last Avast Password! What do I do?

Hi,

You would normally follow the process as mentioned in this guide https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Synchronize-Passwords-across-devices/
under Synchronize subsequent devices. If you don't have a previously authorized device then you can verify via email.

If you have changed your Avast Account password (the email associated with your Avast Passwords backup) and
you are unable to login because you don't remember the previous password, then you will, unfortunately, have to start from scratch.

What if I change my password, saved my old password, and use that old password to authenticate? Would that work?

You'll know if it works after you try it. :)
