Avast keeps popping up "Updated" message.
« on: July 26, 2020, 10:29:39 AM »
Why am I getting this "You are rocking the latest version" pop up from time to time on my computer?

I already "fixed" or "repaired the app" under Settings, and it still pops up this annoying message/screen from time to time.

It used to do this when starting up the PC, but now, it can be anytime.....

Someone tell Avast to FIX this!

Several people have commented in other threads about this v20.5 notification popup and I have seen it multiple times myself. It mostly preceded another annoying "popup" - where the main Avast GUI (main program start screen) opened at startup and also at random times while working within Windows.

However something appears to have changed after today's (26-July) update to build 584  [Avast Free v20.5.2415 (build 20.5.5410.584)]. On all my machines I got one last "GUI opening at Startup" after the update and since then it has not happened again. And so far both the random GUI opening while working and the v20.5 update notification popup windows have also both stopped on my computers. With any luck this is an actual fix that has been rolled out.

Its September 23, 2020 and this idiocy is STILL HAPPENING.  I've change to silent notifications and rebooted, but I still get this pop up about every hour or two depending on when I am on.  This evening in the space of 2 hours it popped up 3 times.

Will someone at Avast PLEASE FIX THIS MESS?

Hi, just chiming in here that I am also experiencing this on Windows 10 Home, Program Version: 20.7.2425 (build 20.7.5568.598). I'd really like this to be fixed ASAP, I don't much see the point of Anti-Virus software that behaves like Malware.

I don't know if this might help:
With the bulid xx.599 has it stopp by me! Thanks.

Currently I'm not experiencing this (Avast Free), but my build is xx.598.  This is probably the same for most users, so I would suggest a system restart (to apply it) and see if this minor build update does have a bug fix.
