slowing my computer boot time
« on: July 30, 2020, 04:56:01 AM »
I have been using Avast free for a couple years now and I've been happy with it.  Recently they offered me a 60 day trial of the Premium service, so I took it to try it out.
Before I used it my computer would boot up in less than 15 seconds and now it takes about a minute and a half.  I thought this stuff was supposed to speed up your computer.
What's going on ?  I would really appreciate any help with this.  Thank you.

Few years back Avast free had bug that cause systems boot time to  double/triple, took then almost year to fix the bug, one wander if it back? Back then I was running SSD in X58 and had 25 second boot time for windows, when the bug hit I was sitting at 40-50sec to boot, moment I uninstalled Avast boot time were fine.

A/V dont speed up system if any thing they slow down most modern systems should see no diffrence

have you upgraded to 20.6 as Asyn says ?
because slow starts with version 20.5 have been reported to avast and the problem may be solved with version 20.6.
