Is it agains't some law rules? I'm going to be fined for that? But seriously - I have used Avira Free Edition(it has no access to it's inbuilt firewall in that version) and Zone Alarm for years now. Haven't noticed those two programms interfere with each other.
I admitt though that i'm currently testing Avira PREMIUM(inbuilt firewall enabled) with Zone Alarm active and enabled in the system tray. Are you suggesting that having 2 firewalls enabled led to temporarily switching off one of them( that would be Avira switching off ZA) and finding a new Network?
Lastly, before i get criticized for running (but only for a few days up to now) 2 independent firewalls i want to say that i know it's generally not advisable but i haven't noticed any problems so far.
"So Far" that's the magic word. It's your computer.
When you state Zone Alarm, without clarifying that it was only the firewall component, it naturally brings into play the use of 2 Antivirus programs.
It was that part of your question that I was honing in on.
You'll need to wait for someone else to reply to your network question.
The fact still remains that running 2 Firewalls and/or 2 Antivirus programs is not recommended.
