Installation failure Macbook Pro

Good afternoon, Just purchased Avast Premium for Mac, downloaded app and tried (several times) to install. Error message - previous version installed, please remove. i)there is no previous version on my MAcbook; ii) I have removed all files from library - caches, logs etc. Need help, please to uninstall residue of previous version. Have downloaded uninstaller but this produces same 'previous version' message.

If you still have the Avast.app in your /Applications directory you should be able to run the uninstaller script.

In the Terminal application run the following command:

sudo /Applications/Avast.app/Contents/Backend/hub/uninstall.sh

It will prompt you for your password then remove the old version of Avast Security so you can install the new version.
