Avast Sync Service moves into Beta
« on: September 02, 2020, 06:28:31 PM »
Hello everyone,

Our mission is to make the web more secure and private across all your devices. Since launching on more platforms this year we understand how important it is to be able sync your bookmarks, and history across your devices.

That’s why we’ve built our own sync service allowing you to access your online history across all your devices, at any time, anywhere and everywhere using your Avast Account.

We’re excited to announce that we are now ready to test this in our Windows Beta environment. The purpose of this test is to hear your feedback and additionally help us identify bugs and load test our new infrastructure.

How to test
  • If you are in our beta channel you should automatically see the log in options top right if you are on version 85.0. It may require a relaunch of the browser, be patient, it might take some time to show!
  • From here you can log into the browser using your Avast Account.

Known issues bugs
  • We are aware that there are some difficulties logging out (don’t worry we’re fixing this!). If you are experiencing issues you can always disable by going to secure://flags/#profiles-and-sync and changing to “default”
  • We’re still working on new UI elements that’ll be merged in an upcoming release, be aware there might be some broken URLs and settings that aren’t hooked up yet.

If you have any feedback, please let us know
