I got an email offering an update to Driver Updater. It had a button, UPDATE NOW.
I ran the new version. The interface was totally different. It claimed to find eight (

out-of date drivers. The previous version had found none. I let it operate, and of course it wanted to restart.
I restarted, and the Restart Now to complete Installation button was still there. This happened three times, and I ultimately had to stop the program in Task Manager.
Now the Start menu is inaccessible. The Start button on Windows 10 does nothing, though I can still right-click and get PowerShell, Run, Search and so on.
I wormed my way into Windows Update, and it had one for me, so I updated, hoping the update would repair Windows and re-enable the Start button. Nope. So I uninstalled Driver Updater.
Star button still is inoperative. Windows Update has nothing new for me.
