I got an email offering an update to Driver Updater.  It had a button, UPDATE NOW.

I ran the new version.  The interface was totally different.  It claimed to find eight (8) out-of date drivers.  The previous version had found none.  I let it operate, and of course it wanted to restart.

I restarted, and the Restart Now to complete Installation button was still there.  This happened three times, and I ultimately had to stop the program in Task Manager.

Now the Start menu is inaccessible.  The Start button on Windows 10 does nothing, though I can still right-click and get PowerShell, Run, Search and so on.

I wormed my way into Windows Update, and it had one for me, so I updated, hoping the update would repair Windows and re-enable the Start button.  Nope.  So I uninstalled Driver Updater.

Star button still is inoperative.  Windows Update has nothing new for me.

Hi, it's me again.  I found the problem and fixed it.

IF YOU HAVE an inaccessible Start Menu in Windows 10, you should uninstall KB4566782.

It worked for me.

It's installed here without any effect on my start menu ?
