Any Idea?
« on: September 05, 2020, 05:51:39 PM »
does anyone know how long it truly takes for avast to refund Avast Premium Security  and any other avast products and not just by what they describe in the generic email  response saying confirmation of your refund being approved for processing along with the maximum amount of days it may take.

i loved avast don't get me wrong about that, but at this point im not pleased sort of upset that customer service seems lacking when it comes to resolving issues( like no customer call centers) or a Representative to reach out too understand why i was charge for 2 products for a total of $75.83 (instead of just one which it said i was paying 38.39 for just one product at check out) and when you only budgeted in paying for just 1 product for a year but instead get charged for 2 products thats a bank buster when your working on a budget that is your living expenses for a month. .

so my questions in total are the following

1. how long does refund turn around actually take and not just what the email has gave as the maximum?
2.do i have to worry i'll be charge again next year even tho i've unsubscribed(since both https://subscriptions.avast.com/ and the avast digital river subscription manage are now unsubscribed) request a refund and no longer wish to pay or renew said products every again?

would greatly be thankful if someone/or someones explain and answer my questions

A lot of the variables in here depend on your bank.
Just because Avast returns your funds, it still depends on your bank to make them available.
If you've cancelled the auto renewal, you'll not be charged again unless you again consent to auto renewal
when doing a new install.
The best way not to wind up with auto renewal is to not allow it in the first place.
I personally always use a custom install on anything that gets installed on my computers.

Thanks Bob3160 For Your Reply.

But im aware of processes of banking and the variables and the complexities .
i'm just waiting for avast themselves and digital river (their point of online sells vendor) at this point to return the funds, since the bank said they only see an pending deduction to avast.
i think my major concern is avast and this experience of not having anyone to reach out to or speak with or reach out to me.
everything so far has been from automated machines emailing me. No Representatives.

i would of been happy if a Representative would of reached out to figure out things, like any normal company would do for its customers to ensure their experience is on par with their services/or products and their quality assurance protocol. not the case as of right now. i've only had automated emails with no option to contact anyone representing the avast because again automated emails from noreply emails

now for the auto renewal i haven't seen anything in the installing of their products that prevents that or even offers it.
its when you purchase from their online store or thru their applications to purchase/or extend  that it merely assumes you want a auto-renewal setup forces you into that position with out any choice of saying hey no i want a manual renewal choice.

either way i have unsubscribed from that setup for both items in question and double checked both my avast account and the manage subscription portal(managed by what i assume is avast and digital river one of its online vendors)

so to end this clearly im just upset, worried and mad all at the same time because again i have no clue whats happening at this point and no one for avast or digital river( its vendor it used to sell me the products at check out) has bothered to reach out to figure out why i got charge for 2 products when at check out i was being lead to believe i was purchasing Avast Premium Security at a discounted price for one year to which it would be 89.99 next year at the end of the cycle, but instead after checkout to find i was being charge additionally for another product that wasnt in the check out order list right after i checked out in two emails order sent to my email.

so instead of me waiting and hoping that from what the  automated emails have insisted is/or was going to happen since i requested a refund out of desperation and confusing.

i could of instead been in touch with a rep discussing an alternative route of action for at least one of the  products that i actually wanted. but because there is no one to actually get in touch with i had no alternative choice but to unsubscribe and ask for a refund.

i'm sorry if i seem slightly upset. but im in a situation created out of a mess because avast/or digital river charged me for two items and threw out a balanced budget and life out of wack which has created an unnecessary amount of anxiety and stress especially in this time of uncertainty and a world wide pandemic.

so it would of been easier and helped if a rep or someone representing avast would of reached out via email or even here.
