On my wife's computer most times either Behaviour or ransomware shield doesn't start when computer is booted up.
There is no warning show in Avast icon in system tray.
Only way you know is to run your mouse arrow over avast icon to see if there is a problem with a shield.
I find this unacceptable in a security program, you are not notified you have a problem with your program.
I have tried all remedies I have seen on the forums.
Have done repair uninstall and re install which hasn't fixed the problem.
I have used avast paid version now for over 12 years now I will be changing my security software.
