"Run SmartScan" window keeps on appearing!

Starting a few days ago, the "Run SmartScan" window starting appearing many times a day, even when run earlier that day!
Pop-ups are disabled, but nothing I can find to do seems to stop this annoying window from constantly interrupting me!
My wife is having exactly the same issue on her PC, again starting from a few days ago.

The application is the latest, dated 1st September, but the issue has only started recently.

Is anyone else having the same issue? And, if so, has anyone found a way to solve it?

You may have recent known-issue,  which is described here:

Why does it keep popping up?

According to devs the issue is already fixed on server-side, a reboot would solve it.
