Popup stealing focus
« on: September 24, 2020, 01:09:10 AM »
What is the update (if any) on the UI popping up issue? There appears to be several threads with nothing but conjecture, unhelpful advice and no acknowledgement from anyone official?

The avast UI keeps popping up infront of programs, at random times, stealing focus from all active windows even when in silent mode and/or with notifications disabled. Forum users are suggesting that this is occuring when database updates run, but this doesnt seem to be the case because when switched to manual updating this does not remedy the problem.

This situation is highly frustating for my experience as I run applications in DSR mode and the windows desktop has a several second freeze when its force minimized while it trys to readjust resolutions from 4k to 1080p, all for a simple "Everything is OKAY!" message from avast. I already get enough popups/spam/grief from your program trying to sell me additional addons and content, even with everything disabled.

As a long term user (remember how useful/lightweight and awesome 2000s avast used to be?) already disapointed with marketing choices and directions this program has taken over the last few years, this is the last hairpull. Can we get at least some acknowledgement of the issue, some explination and or solutions?

I havent requested a refund yet, but I certainly wont be renewing at the end of this subscription period. Time to look elsewhere.

Hi there, thank you for the reports, our developers are looking into this. We will keep you posted.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
But still no news on a fix.

While this is a minimal something, this should at the very least be a sticky because its lost in whatever thread among all the responses.
