Wait for restart until after they finish?
« on: October 11, 2020, 04:57:37 PM »
Not sure if there is any particular reason why, but the program insisted on restarting the computer after I downloaded the first of 14 driver updates.  Not sure if it's going to try to restart after every single one, but if so this needs to change.  I understand pushing for the restart to finish the process but if possible please don't force multiple restarts back to back...

Some driver updates require a restart to take effect and some do not. You're asked to restart after a driver update occurred that requires a restart.

Hi,

this is a problem of the current version, we sincerely apologize for it.
We know about it and currently working on a solution which should decrease the amount of restarts and if possible move them at the end of the whole process.

Please bear with us here.
Thank you!

Sorry, I've never seen that many restarts.
I just had 18 updates and had 3 restarts.

My advice is just updated one driver at a time until Avast resolves the ongoing issue, I know it a real pain in the butt if you have 16 or more drivers that need updating.
Gigabyte 670 LGA1200 Full ATX MB | Intel Core i9-13900 CPU/LGA 1700 | GeForce Nvidia RTX-4070/12GB | 32GB DDR4 | 2 x 1TB Samsung SSD | W11 Home 64bit | Avast Premium v23.11.6090 | Avast SecureLine VPN | Avast Secure Browser | Avast Driver Updater | Avast BreachGuard | Firefox 64bit | MalwareBytes Premium | Adguard Premium | CCleaner Portable | Macrium Reflect | 7-Zip

Doing one at a time is not the answer. When you select update all, at least it continues to update all of the outdated drivers one at a time till they are all done. Yes, there are restarts but the process still continues.
