I'm totally not a computer geek but through Google I found out how to read "Minidump files" to check the details of the BSOD crash.

This learned me that Ndu.sys is causing the crash, but I checked EVERYTHING (updated drivers) and checked several video's but I still get the BSOD.

Now I took a closer look in these minidump files and Avast is mentioned. Please download a simple and safe text-file of my logs: https://we.tl/t-1tX0Lo6BwH

Do some other Avast users are having a similar problem? I now deleted Avast (although I'm paying for it) and I will check if the BSOD still happens. If it's fixed, this is a serious problem that Avast should look into.

I have been having BSOD's since installing Avast (Netio.sys is usually the error I get). Been going on for months. I wasn't sure if it was Avast or not, but now...

I am running brand new windows 10 Pro on Dell Precision Workstation. Had a different similar Dell which I returned to get upgraded power supply and bluetooth in and it gave me identical BSOD. Using Avast free and only keep on basic protections. Running malwarebytes at the same time. Put exceptions into both programs to prevent conflicts. Have been running this on another computer which uses identical programs without issue. Kept getting ndu.sys BSOD. When I uninstalled newest version of Avast, problem stopped. I had also turned off Fast User Switching, as recommended in other forums for ndu.sys BSOD. I will reinstall Avast free and see if issue persists. I will turn off Ransomeware protection on Avast since I have it on premium malwarebytes. BTW, I excepted the ransomeware conflict in Avast and malwarebytes before.

I am having the same problem. It started after the last update. What I've found is that avast is causing the cpu usage to skyrocket. Just after rebooting and not having any user programs running, avast is using 24% cpu. If I start a program, it goes to about 50%. If I start another one or two, the computer crashes.

I've submitted a ticket and ran the support tool. I hope someone at avast is setting this.

I am reporting back on my BSOD and automatic restart issues with Avast free. I reinstalled Avast and only used the 3 basic protections. Turned off ransomeware since malwarebytes has that. Made certain to set exceptions. Within 5 minutes of installing Avast, computer did an automatic restart. Uninstalled Avast and will follow again

Ok, 3 weeks later and I never had a BSOD anymore, so it's DEFINITELY Avast causing it.

I am paying for the premium version so Avast please help me solve this.

I was expecting some changes / improvements with the latest version 20.8 and instead?
Yet in presenting this latest version we speak of
"Improved Accessibility - Our interface is now better suited for users with problems."
Someone, I hope, will explain to us what this "Improved Accessibility" consists of

That's not a solution, that's just creating a bug report. I did it, so what now? It's impossible that this solved anything.

- Which version/build of Avast Premium..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?

I think I found the problem. Could it be that my PC was crashing because I was using Avast Premium and Malwarebytes (free) at the same time? I now deleted Malwarebytes and will see if I still get BSOD's during the coming days. Does Avast Premium have a malware scanner? So perhaps I don't need Malwarebytes?
