Avast Driver Updater giving fake 'Outdated Drivers' message?
« on: October 22, 2020, 12:39:03 PM »
The latest 'You have outdated drivers' notification just arrived. The first related to my ACER S27L, Current Version 1.0.0.0 (released Mar 1, 2012).
I clicked to update this one, and it tells me "This driver is outdated - Acer S271HL, device type Monitor.
Then it says 'Your current version 1.0.0.0' ... 'Newest version 1.0.0.0' = exactly the same.
Fake news?

Newest version of driver updater telling me I've got numerous out of date drivers when Intel says (within 5 minutes!) I'm up to date. Getting fed up with the increasing hard sell from Avast, (drivers, VPN, etc) especially when their core programme is now so extensive it is noticeably slowing down my slightly older dual core desktop machine.
