DRIVER UPDATER PROBLEMS WITH SOUND NOT WORKING

I downloaded the new driver updater and as some of you are having problems with no sound issues i thought i would post how i sorted the problem

I went onto my laptop product page and downloaded the driver for my my machine ,i then installed it and went through the sound test to ensure it was working,i then restarted my lap top and all is back to normal so i hope this helps

I have this exact problem and am very frustrated: I paid for avast driver update and now my sound is not working. I was unable to zoom family in lock down as a result.

Avast are not replying to me when I contact them- which I have done twice. I do not have the computer skills to sort something complex- and why should I?, that is why I pay for avast to make sure my computer works well. I phoned Avast but because I don't live in the US  they don't provide that service to me. I don't want to restore to factory reset as then I will have to spend hours re-setting up my computer. 

Avast please can you contact me asap and sort this out on my computer.  Thank you

If the audio driver was updated using Avast Driver Updater, then it should be possible to restore it using Avast Driver Updater as it stores a backup of the previous driver version before any update.

If the problem is with Realtek drivers, Its already been reported to Avast.
I created a System Restore point prior to updating the drivers and was able to roll back that way.
I've updated all the other drivers but not the Sound drivers till the problem is solved.
