ashServ.exe
« on: January 23, 2004, 02:56:16 PM »
My computer gets really slow from time to time, and it's seems that it is ashServ.exe that is stealing all my CPU (it's upp to 100% very often).

How do I deal with this problem? I' running Windows XP and haven't had this problem before with Avast... but it has been going on for a couple of weeks now since i re-installed Avast.

Why did you reinstall?  Need more details surrounding your problem.

Does it take the cpu when the computer is idle, or in regular intervals no matter what you're doing, or both...? Is the avast (a) ball spinning on the tray while the CPU load is high?

It may be the VRDB generator, too - but that would be also visualized by the VRDB tray icon which would start "jumping"...

I definitely need more info...

Thanks
