MS Office MSOutlook 2007 compatibility during upgrade.
« on: January 19, 2007, 11:01:34 PM »
I have the official release of MS Office 2007, and am upgrading to MSOutlook 2007.

When i first start Outlook 2007 after the upgrade, it tries to migrate the accounts, settings and data. Avast Plug-in apparently hangs the system. I have to kill MSOutlook. then i restart Outlook and it says that the Avast plug-in caused a problem, and do i want to disable it. I say "Yes". Then Outlook starts fine. But Avast plug-in is now disabled.

Any hope of a patch/fix for this? I think this is an ongoing problem, as i see it mentioned several times in the forums over the last several months.

Of course, once the upgrade is complete, and you have disabled and reenabled the plug-in, all is well.

But the conflict during the migration process needs some help.

I believe there has been a Topic relating to a problem with outlook 2007, most of these seem to be about the beta version of outlook 2007. I'm not sure if this is the same as your are experiencing. Perhaps a forums search for "outlook 2007" with quotes or outlook2007.
