Problem With Yahoo Messenger.

Hi,
    i am using the latest version of Avast Home Edition.The problem is that ever since i have un-installed avast,i am unable to see anything being written in the chat window..

Its completely blank,no words,emoticons are displayed when i write them..
Neither can i see what my frnd is typing...

I am using Yahoo messenger 8,tried to un-install re-install couple of times but of no use..

Did you use any other antivirus before avast?
Are you using any right now? Which firewall or other security program are you using?
Are you using XP?
How did you uninstall avast?

We need more info to help...

I was using avg 7.5 before,but it was working then.

Only today when i un-installed it,that i found this error.i was using comodo firewall with it.and un-installed comodo after i was having problems with yahoo messenger but to no avail..

I am using windows-xp SP2.I used windows own add/remove program wizard from control panel.

      You are a "Randy Horton" fan !? Your Posts are confusing.
      But I will let you know I am using a fully-updated
      Avast Home edition v 4.7.892 AND use Yahoo IM on a
      regular basis, including receiving and sending several
      IMs within the last 12 hours. I will admit I have NOT
     "updated" Yahoo IM in quite a while; not interested in
      the "new" features. Perhaps an "older" version of
      Yahoo IM would be better !?

It really seems that you are a "Randy Horton" Fan,however he is..

If you read my post again,you will see that the problem occurred after un-installing  avast and not while i was using it..

It seems there is a problem with yahoo itself,coz on their support site,many people have experienced this since last 2 weeks or so..
