I have a log file or something called wpr_record_1597517233.etl eating up 11.5 gb's
<snip>
First off I'm an Avast User and not an Avast Team Member.
By saying it is in the Log folder, do you mean an Avast sub folder, if so (or if not) which location ?
In general files in the Avast Log sub-folders should be able to be removed, but most of the files in the Log sub-folders are .txt not .etl files. The program may seek confirmation that you want to do this and or you may need to disable the avast self-defence module.
This is why I asked for the location, before taking any action.
Having done a search on wpr_record_ the first hit is saying it is a Showing results for wpr record
indicating it is a Windows Performance Recorder file, but that search drops the _ underscores. Though I guess given the search below, it may be that this could be used as a tool by other programs (though I haven't seen any related to Avast).
A search on file type etl returns hits not that I see any directly related to Avast AV.
