Windows 7 PCs hang sta startup
« on: November 30, 2020, 07:25:36 AM »
Hi
I have over a dozen PCs running Windows 7 Professional (32 & 64 bit) which have been inexplicably hanging (freezing) at startup.

This happens to corpooate PCs on a domain and home users on Windows Workgroup.

The only resolution is to start the PCs up in Safe Mode and run AVASTCLEAR to uninstall Avast

Re-installing Avast (using the latest offline installer) results in the same problem!
(AVG also causes the PCs to freeze)

I have been a loyal Avast user for over a decade and this is the first time I have been forced to look at an alternative.

Is anyone else having similar problems?

Does anyone at Avast have info on a solution?

Thsnk you
