For the past several days I've had to sign in to get to the forum.  I have checked save my ID but it doesn't.  When I try to sign in it shows my password is wrong , which it isn't, and  I get a link in my email showing reset my password
.

Well having to sign into the forums isn't a new thing.

I too would question the source of the email.
I certainly wouldn't be clicking any Magic Button (terrible childish term) to Reset Password.  Or did you do that ?

Now here's the 64,000$ question, if your password is wrong, how did you log on the the forum ?
As your Avast Account password would surely be the same.

@DavidR

I had to get a new password

Very strange, given what your 2nd image said (before you removed it) that you could ignore this message and continue using your old one.  Of course the one you were using would have to have been correct.  Whilst they can be forgotten, if using a unique one (as you should) and you aren't using a password manager, to remember and protect your saved passwords.
