windows NT Install

install shield does not seem to think that I am on Service Pack 6a for Windows NT 4.0, and the install aborts.  How do I resolve this problem.

could you run windows update (if they have that in NT) or go to the microsoft webpage for updates?

Is it related to avast! anyhow?
avast! does not use InstallShield...
