xsoftspy and avast problems
« on: October 16, 2006, 07:31:23 PM »
seems like the latest update to xsoftspy (antispyware) sees avast files as a spyware program

can you confirm the files it has found in the included picture, are indeed part of avast please .

as everytime i remove them with xsoftspy then avast skinned interface will not run. ?

http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3719987

as you can see it thinks it's realspy which is a nasty keylogger program

your help would be appreciated in confirming or denying this

They seem to be false positive according to this thread[/b].  Please make use of the forum search next time.  ;)

Two others are experiencing this problem caused by xoftspy and is most certainly a false positive, a common issue with earlier versions of xoftspy when it was classed as a rogue anti-spyware. It had a chequered history which you can check out, there are many good trustworthy applications out there with no chequered history.
Spyware Warrior - Rogue Anti-Spyware, Spyware Warrior - Trustworthy Anti-Spyware Products, some are even free.

No problem welcome to the forums.

There is lots of good info on the spywarewarrior site not just the rogue anti-spyware info page.
